Attention Long Island Area Jukes Fans!

I have one second row ticket to the December 10 show at The Paramount in Huntington, but I have a conflict and can't go. I have seen the Jukes several times at The Paramount and it is a great venue. The opening act, The Weight Band, is also excellent and opened for the Jukes at The Stone Pony Summer Stage show in July. Ticket is $85. Please send me a PM if interested. Thanks. Steve

Greetings all,

First-time contributor, but long-time fan.

I was part of what can be called the few, but mighty at the Hard Rock show in Orlando on Sunday night (Oct. 15).
Thanks for a fun night.
This show was added on short notice after the Key West show had to be cancelled (re: Hurricane Irma damage). Sunday's show was a benefit for Feeding South Florida.

Special shoutout for Brandon, the man with the saxophone. Never heard his last name, but every time he was called upon he came up with an impressive performance.

So here is my attempt at the setlist, unofficial and with a few gaps.
Any help will be appreciated. I need to work on my note-taking.

1. ?
2. I Played the Fool
3. ?
4. Love on the Wrong Side of Town
5. ?
6. Don't Waste My Time
7. On the Beach
8. Walk Away Renee/?
9. Talk To Me
10. This Time It's for Real
11. Ride the Night Away
12. Ain't Nobody's Bizness
13. ?
13. It's Been A Long Time (with a father and his two sons from the audience)
14. All Night Long?
15. Without Love
16. Mexican Divorce/Up on the Roof
17. All I Want is Everything
18. Refuge (Tom Petty tribute)
19. I Don't Want to Go Home

First Encore
20. The Fever
21. Working Too Hard

Second Encore
22. What's Going On

Band lineup
Southside Johnny, vocals, harmonica
Jeff Kazee, keyboards
John Conte, bass
Glenn Alexander, guitar
Tom Seguso, drums
Brandon ?, sax
Chris Anderson, trumpet
Neal Pawley, trombone

For those looking for live videos of Southside and the band, check out www.setlist.fm. Search for SSJ, and click on the concert you want to hear. Some of them have videos from the show, although many are just taken from the respective album. Worth a look, anyway. Enjoy!

Any hope of using nugs.net or other service to get one of these shows in high quality?

Even the one hour PBS 13 show would be awesome. The set lists, the consistent reports of performance, the inclusion of new material...all suggest selling download copies the shows!

Thank you Carol!
It would be so lovely to hear these live versions of beautiful songs like Breakdown and Refugee. Can they be posted to this website? Or, perhaps a compilation for sale?

Haven't checked in for a bit
so didn't know the band had gone to Japan
until right now.

Miami Steve is coming to town
on Friday to play the Rocksino, but

won't be getting to that one.

Hope all are well.........................

A fabulous show at the St. George Theatre last night.

As an intro to one of his songs, Steven Van Zandt recalled when he and Southside lived in the same house, and there was much song-writing going on. He said that he wished that there was more of that now.

Respectfully, I second that emotion.

Just got back from these 2 shows. Seen him close to 40 times and night one was just about as good as uncle south could be. His intensity with the band and to entertain was top notch. Great venue with a fun crowd. Everyone was into it!! Fever was an especially long version with Chris killing it on the trombone. The band really likes this venue and it shows!!! Hope they book it again next year.

Sorry, I don't have the set list, but I believe there was a rendition of Tom Thumb's Blues, also The Fever and I Don't Want to Go home, both done beautifully, and some Rockabilly. The band has great energy and everyone is so talented and diverse.
The Dude could star in his own TV series of sorts....

The Poor Fools at City Winery was a much appreciated Cool breeze. A mixed bag of old, new, borrowed and blue, everyone changing places and instruments. A new take on the Traveling Willburys [sp?] was one the the high points.
Lot's of harp time, too!

Goodnight My Love....what a lucky audience to have heard Johnny sing that gem.
I hope the stars will be in alignment at City Winery.

Southside Johnny appears for a fraction of a second in the new ESPN 30 for 30 documentary: Mike and the Mad Dog, an excellent overview of the rise of Mike Francessa and Chris Russo's afternoon radio show on WFAN and their undeniable influence on sports talk radio across the country over a 19 year period. Southside appears in a clip from one of the Jukes' many appearances at Mike & the Mad Dog's live broadcasts from Bar A in Lake Como, NJ. Many of these shows were broadcast on the YES network over the years. Don't blink or you will miss him.
