The boys were a little sluggish early on (still coming down from the Asbury park show?) but kicked it up a notch halfway through. It looked like uncle south was a bit perturbed when fireworks started while they were finishing up the first set. They came back out with a vengeance to start the 2nd set and it was a blast!! Great songs and great weather made for a great holiday night!!

Glad to be aboard. 40 + year fan. Met my ex through SSJ'S ex. Been trying to acquire a jacket for years. I missed one at the pony show last year. Several shows since they didn't tote one along to sell. Only piece of memorabilia im short on. Driving up from Florida to the pony show Saturday. Anyone know if they will have one there?

I've been to every show SSJ played in Amsterdam for the last ten years and this was probably the best one!
Too many highlights to mention...well...here are some...the stolen sax-solo by Neil Pawley in 'Talk To Me'...Kitty'ss Back appearing in Passion Street, Let It Bleed etc etc ect. Great great atmoshpere!!

I was there last year also and it is truly a wonderful place to see SSJ and the Jukes! Right on beautiful Hudson River and it's free!

No doubt, they aren't awful. I don't think they can be legitimately marked as Springsteen Wannabes. SJ, Bruce, and Little Steven have been related with each other before any of them were even well known. An entire group of E Street individuals has been in the Jukes at some time. Their greatest tune is "I Don't Want To Go Home" v

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes are a Jersey Shore musical group led by Southside Johnny. They have been recording albums since 1976 and are closely associated with Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. They have recorded and/or performed several Springsteen songs, including "The Fever" and "Fade Away". They have awesome teamwork

Didn't see this mentioned here, and know I'd regret not knowing

Tomorrow afternoon at Bar A, the scene of many an August Jukes telecast, is a LaBamba and the Hubcaps Reunion Gig.

Supposedly Bobby Bandiera, Mark Pender, Stan Harrison and Gene Boccia are all confirmed - which puts a LOT of Jukes alumni on stage - and raises possibilities.

Regarding needing a seat at the whisky.

They might be able to accommodate a seat in the loft above the stage area.

It would be tough to do on the floor since everyone stands.

I would ask for that area carolbrbr.

Good Luck and see you all Saturday Night!

Hi John,

Can you please send me an email with your email address (no need to post it here) and I'll pass that along to the Jukes' management? I can't make any promises, but they'd like to see what can be done.

Thanks,
Carol

I've got a ticket for Saturday's show at the whiskey.
I have a disibility similar to ALS, only its a longer life diagnosis thank God.
I have a difficulty getting up & down steps but am manageable.
I can only stand for short periods of time.
I have contacted The Whisky but they weren't all that helpful.
All I'm asking for is that I have a chair waiting for me when I arrive at the venue.
I've been following South & the boys everywhere over the years, since the first LP in '76.
Are there any of you fine people out there who can put me in touch with someone who can make this happen?
I'm not asking for anything special - just somewhere that I know I have a seat waiting for me.

Thanks everyone - I appreciate any help.

Been reading that the The Fever--The Remastered Epic Recordings CD new features several songs that are edited in order to fit them onto two CDs. Very disappointing....

I'm sure we would have paid for a third disc in order to have the full length albums in their remastered glory. Might even have fit some rarities on there to in that case.
